KULIKAR SOTHO
Film Director – Producer

Kulikar is the Director of ‘The Last Reel’, a multi award-winning Khmer-language feature film released in 2014, and the 2016 feature, Beyond The Bridge. She produced the award-winning ‘Ruin’, which won the special Orizzonti prize at the Bienniale Venice Film Festival, and as one of the most experienced Line Producers in Cambodia, worked on feature films ‘Tomb Raider’ and ‘Wish You Were Here’. She has also coordinated countless television documentaries for BBC, Discovery, Nat Geo and other leading channels, plus several globally important commercials. Kulikar can facilitate all filming permissions, all accommodation and transport requirements, temporary import/re-export of equipment and assist with the recruitment of local crew. Add to that her excellent contacts with leading politicians and filmmakers in the region and she can keep your production on course.

NICK RAY
Location Scout & Manager, Producer

Nick has worked in film and television in the Mekong region for more than 20 years. Nick first came to Cambodia on assignment with Lonely Planet back in 1998 and has since worked on more than 50 guidebooks, including country titles like Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam. Our Location Scout Nick also operates as a Location Manager, Line Producer and Producer for major productions. Nick has worked as Line Producer on a number of regional shoots for the BBC, including Around the World in 80 Treasures and the legendary Top Gear Vietnam episode. More recently he has been directing travel shorts for Lonely Planet, a segment on empty Angkor for the BBC Travel Show, the Taste Cambodia promotional video for Ministry of Tourism and other short videos for clients like Cellcard and USAID. Nick’s credits include Tomb Raider, Two Brothers, Wish You Were Here and The Last Reel, all feature films on which he worked as Location Manager.

SOTHO TAN
Founder

Sotho established Hanuman back in 1990, in the early days of tourism, having worked as one of the first tour guides in post-war Cambodia. Fluent in French and English, she oversaw the transformation of Hanuman into the success story it is today. She remains actively involved, looking after the French and European markets. Her passion is the arts and Hanuman Fine Arts is a showcase for the finest collection of artefacts in Cambodia. She is also the inspiration behind Montra Nivesha, Angkor’s Boutique Residence. Although not involved in Hanuman Films on a day-to-day basis, she continues to be involved as Managing Director of the Hanuman Group and works tirelessly to obtain filming permissions for major productions.

MORGAN HAVET
Director of Photography

Originally from Northern France, Morgan arrived in Cambodia in 2017 to work as a videographer at Le Petit Journal Cambodge in order to complete his master degree in media production. Morgan has worked with Hanuman Films for three years and has contributed to all the major projects the production company has worked on in that time, including Soul River, part of the Mekong 2030 lm omnibus on visions for the future of the Mekong River. Morgan has worked on a number of corporate videos for organisations, hotels and businesses, including leading boutique hotels Montra Nivesha, Maison Polanka and Navutu Dreams.

More recently, Morgan was DoP on the BBC Travel Show segment ‘Angkor Wat Deserted in Lockdown’ and the ‘Taste Cambodia’ food video for the Ministry of Tourism Cambodia in partnership with AFD. He also shot a series of remote temple videos for USAID Greening Prey Lang project in Northern Cambodia, including the first Airbnb online experience at BeTreed Adventures. He also worked as lead camera on some major projects for Cellcard, including the ‘One Nation’ TVC at Preah Vihear Temple and ‘Chan Rothana: Carved in Stone’, a feature length documentary that Hanuman Films is producing in partnership with Cellcard and ONE FC.

ANDY BROUWER
Production Consultant

Cheltenham-born and bred, he made his first trip to Cambodia in 1994. That white-knuckle ride hooked him for life. He upped sticks to Phnom Penh in 2007 after more than thirty years in banking back in the UK to join Hanuman. As well as having a serious interest in temples, books (he’s the editor of the guidebook To Cambodia With Love), and pretty much all things Khmer, he is a lifetime supporter of Leeds United and has an insatiable passion for the music of Steel Pulse and Ennio Morricone. Andy has assisted numerous productions during their research and development phase and sometimes works on the ground with crews specializing in the performing arts. He worked with Winds of Angkor, the first major international musical to feature the Khmer Rouge period.

SINATH PHEAT
Local fixer

Sinath has been working with Hanuman for a decade now working on a range of film shoots as a Fixer, Runner and Actor. He has worked on shows large and small, including Jack Whitehall: Travels With My Father, Race Across the World, Asia Express and Soul River for Mekong 2030. More recently he has worked as an actor or talent in some major projects in Cambodia, including the Cellcard One Nation commercial at Preah Vihear Temple and the Taste Cambodia promotional video for the Ministry of Tourism together with leading actress Ma Rynet.
