Koh Ker – Unesco
(World Heritage Candidate Video – 4min – 2021)
With more than 120 temples, Koh Ker is one of the largest complex of Cambodia. Built more than 1000 years ago, it its splendor has crossed the centuries. Koh Ker was the capital of the Khmer empire under King Jayavarman IV from 928 AD to 944 AD. Boasting dozens of temples, this is one of the largest complexes around the temples of Angkor and one of the least visited. Long abandoned and looted, today the community continues to worship and tend it. Koh Ker is Cambodia’s fourth candidate for the inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List, following the listing of the Temples of Angkor, Preah Vihear Temple and Sambor Prei Kuk.
The National Authority of Preah Vihear (NAPV) asked Hanuman Films to produce this candidate video to support their application for Koh Ker to be listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site following the success of the Cellcard ‘One Nation’ video shoot at Preah Vihear Temple.
