Discover the new Mon Guerlain Intense campaign starring Angelina Jolie. Directed by Oscar-winning cinematographer Emmanuel ‘Chivo’ Lubezki, the campaign is set in the rural surroundings of Angelina Jolie’s Cambodian home in Samlaut District. Angie has long been associated with Cambodia since she starred as Lara Croft in Tomb Raider and adopted her Cambodian-born son Maddox. Chivo is one of the most awarded cinematographers in the history of film, having one three Oscars in a row for Gravity, Birdman and The Revenant. Put the two together and you have an epic perfume commercial with a surprising soundtrack.

Hanuman Films were the production company and fixers for this huge commercial involving a crew of several hundred from Cambodia, Thailand, France, US and UK, among other countries. The remote location at Angie’s house in the middle of the jungle made logistics such as accommodation, transport and catering a real challenge, but the shoot was a major success, including permission to film at Angkor Wat. The Hanuman Films team scouted all the locations with renowned photographer Roland Neveu, including an early visit to Angie’s house at a time when she had not yet even visited.
