Race Across the World

(TV Show – 6 episodes of 60 minutes – 2019 & 2023)

Race Across the World is a British television programme, made by Studio Lambert, which sees five pairs of travellers participate in an epic race that will take them through many countries.

Following the success of the 1st series of BBC Race Across the World in Cambodia in 2019, the Studio Lambert team returned to the Kingdom for Series 4, an epic race of 15,000km from Japan to Indonesia. The five pairs of contestants were required to travel overland and were only given a map, travel guide and gps tracker. The crew travelled through Cambodia in October 2023 and the series screened on the BBC in April and May 2024.

There were 7 checkpoints in the race, including Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Hanuman Films arranged all the filming permissions in only 1 month following a last-minute change of routing due to not being issued filming permits for Laos in time. Hanuman Films, supported by Hanuman Travel, also coordinated all hotels, transports and local fixers for the project, as well as arranging local jobs along the way, such as dressing up as clowns for Phare the Cambodian Circus and handing out flyers on Pub St.

Hanuman Films arranged all the logistics in Cambodia for this epic reality adventure show. Movements and timings were very unpredictable as this was a real-time race where contestants experienced changes and setbacks along the way. Our team coordinated the arrival and departure of multiple teams at different border crossings with Vietnam and Thailand, as well as arranging everything from Filming Permissions, Fixers and Accommodation along the way.
