Travel With My Father

Jack Whitehall: Travels with My Father is a travel documentary/road trip comedy television series that debuted on Netflix. The show is presented by comedian Jack Whitehall and his father, Michael Whitehall. The show covers the pair’s travels to various places around the world, encountering silly and awkward situations. The first series was released on Netflix in 2017, and covers the pair’s travel to South East Asia on a popular “gap year route”, and involves them traveling through Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia. Subsequent series included Eastern Europe, the American west, Australia and a fifth season is planned for late 2021.

Hanuman Films worked with award-winning UK production company Tiger Aspect on Travels With My Father in Cambodia. Meeting the crew in the wild west border town of Poipet, their journey included the Bamboo Train in Battambang, an English class for monks, a visit to Angkor Wat and removing landmines from a live minefield with the Apopo Hero Rats. Nick Ray worked as Line Producer throughout the shoot and features in two episodes as a guide at Angkor Wat and a travelling companion to visit Apopo.
